The Electrical Industries Federation of Ireland (EIFI) is the all-industry body for the electrical sector in Ireland.  It incorporates the main representative associations of electrical contractors and manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors of lighting and electrical products and equipment.

Gay Byrne, President of the EIFI, opened the presentation speaking about the EIFI’s support for the SEAI and the Government’s commitment to sustainability.  The ideals and objectives outlined in the Climate Action Plan, cover both environmental and economic sustainability.  It also focuses on the broader EU climate-related objectives such as the Renovation Wave and Green Deal initiatives.

Gay also highlighted how EIFI members are ideally placed to support these objectives and how they have devised carefully-designed strategies that will help to deliver a more energy-efficient and carbon-neutral Ireland. As individual associations, and collectively as the overall representative federation, they regularly engage with government departments, statutory and standards bodies and various industry forums by making submissions and providing technical support and advice.

Further presentations are from Sean Downey, CIF Director of Specialist Contracting and ECA Secretary and Mark Keogh, VP for Buildings and Industry, Schneider Electric Ireland.  They give interesting industry perspectives on climate change and sustainability.
